The Medical Response Diver (MRD) training programme addresses three (3) main areas,
they are...
Part 1. Advanced Technical SCUBA Diving or Surface Supplied Diving to 165 fsw to HSE published Standard.
Part 2. Rescue and Recovery, and
Part 3. Medical (Diver Medic Technician).
The MRD programme is recognized by HSE UK under the "Diving at Work Regulations, and Part 3 is recognized by NBHDMT (1991) and ADC International in the USA, in accordance with 29 CFR Part 1910: 410. Further, the Medical Training component is recognized by NBHDMT and ADC International in accordance with 29 CFR Part 1910:410 (USA Federal Department of Labor/Occupational Health and Safety Administration) and the Rescue and Advanced Technical SCUBA Diving are offered in accordance with the "Diving at Work Regulations" (Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the United Kingdom/EU). The Diver Training is offered in accordance with the published standards of HSE under the Diving at Work Regulations.
The Medical Fitness Standard for divers in this programme is the HSE Medical Standard MA1A or as amended by HSE. Exceptions to this standard must be applied for and agreed in writing prior to commencement of training.
