DMT Diver Medic Training was designed during the period 1989 - 1992 to provide Competency Based Paramedic Level Training to Divers. It subsequently became a Private Organisation in 1998, but continued to provide the Guidelines, Structure and Certification within Diver Medic Training to HSE (Health and Safety Executive) Standards published in the United Kingdom.
In 2002, DMT Diver Medic Training was recognized by the Association of Diving Contractors (ADC) International in the USA, in accordance with the Standards set out by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA), an Agency of the United States Federal Department of Labor. This recognition confirms compliance with 29 CFR Part 1910:410.
Currently there are two (2) professional bodies recognized by HSE to certify compliance in the Commercial/Professional Diving area in accordance with the United Kingdom's "Diving at Work Regulations." These bodies are... ADC International and IMCA. Both qualifications are acceptable for HSE Standard Employment.
